For the third year in a row Luxottica supports Telethon Italy, the second largest Italian biomedical charity that works to advance biomedical research towards the diagnosis, cure and prevention of human genetic diseases.
During the 3 day-TV fundraising marathon, Luxottica Group’s OneSight Foundation donated Euro 50,000 to support the research of pigmentary retinitis (a hereditary disease that causes the progressive loss of sight) and Lebers congenita amaurosis (a premature form of the same disease that can cause blindness from birth).
 

Luxottica Group's OneSight Foundation supports research-seeking cures for preventable blindness. In addition to this donation across Europe, OneSight North America will grant an additional $250,000 to support research seeking cures for diabetic retinopathy, the number one cause of blindness among adults in the US and other pediatric eye diseases.
